How do I get patches for Magento 1?

No security updates
after 2020?

Magento 1 is one of the most popular e-commerce systems in the world. For over 10 years, large and small retailers trust in it. Magento has been working on a successor for a long time and officially released Magento 2 on 11/17/2015.

Contrary to initial expectations, a change from Magento 1 to Magento 2 is not a small update, but a lengthy and costly process in which many parts of the system must be rewritten and rethought.

This change is (currently) too costly for many merchants, especially in regard to the time already invested in Magento 1 and the corresponding budgets.

In June 2020 Magento discontinued all official security updates for Magento 1. This means that hundreds of thousands of retailers will have no reliable software in the future.

We take care
of your security!

With Mage One, we offer permanent, competent support for merchants who want to continue using Magento 1 professionally. We provide security updates and technical adjustments so that Magento 1 can continue to be used with the latest technology.

We offer each participating company access to the source code and the updates. We also proactively inform you via our newsletter about new versions.

In order to continue to find security vulnerabilities, our team will perform security checks of the existing Magento 1 source code and also offer prize money to security experts and developers who identify security vulnerabilities on their own responsibility and help us fix them.

What will Mage One do for me?

Patching Security Vulnerabilities

We will provide a sustainable bug bounty program for proper compensation of research work done by community members.

Patch Files

For every fix, you will be able to download a patch file. You can access these files in your Mage One Dashboard.

QPS – Quick Protection System

QPS is an extension for our merchants that will provide a simple solution to block known attacks as long as there’s no patch available. QPS will automatically update its signatures to provide as much security as possible.

As soon as you install the latest patches QPS will remove unneeded signatures to improve your shop’s performance. Get more details on Github.

Server Software Support

Your Magento Shop uses PHP, MySQL and Apache. These programs are being actively developed and will so in the future. We’ll make sure that your Magento 1 shop is capable to run the latest software in the future. PHP 7.4 or PHP 8? Not a big deal for you. Get the latest performance boosts from PHP even in the future.
